There is so much excitement happening around campus! This week marks the beginning of some of Woodlake's favorite traditions, from Back to School Night and our first Recycling Contest to Woody's Birthday Week, the Scholastic Book Fair, Family Math Night, and Family Movie Night.

Whether you're joining us on campus, volunteering your time, or supporting our Giving Tree campaign, thank you for helping make Woodlake such a special place for our students. Here's everything happening this week!

Back to School Night is almost here! This is a wonderful opportunity to meet your child's teacher, learn about classroom expectations, curriculum, and goals for the school year, and hear how you can help make this a successful year.

• This event is for parents and guardians only

• Learn about your child's classroom and grade-level expectations

• Connect with your teacher and school community

♻️ First Recycling Contest of the Year

Our first Recycling Contest is here! Help your class earn bragging rights while supporting a cleaner campus.

​

Please remember:

• Aluminum cans and plastic bottles only

• No glass, please

• Label all bags with your student's room number

🏆 New this year! The winning class will receive:

• A FREE $1 Snack Shack item for every student

• Our brand new Woodlake Recycling Trophy to proudly display in their classroom until next month's contest

Let's see which class takes home the trophy first!

 

🌳 Giving Tree Continues!

Do you love our art, music, and gardening programs? How about the incredible classroom aides, yard supervisors, and enrichment opportunities that make Woodlake so special? Then we need your support!

 

Giving Tree is our school's direct giving campaign, and every donation goes right back into the programs, staff, and experiences that benefit every Wildcat.

📚 Scholastic Book Fair is Almost Here!

Get ready to spark a love of reading! The Scholastic Book Fair is returning to Woodlake next week and will be open during lunch and after school throughout Woody's Birthday Week. Whether your child is searching for a new favorite series or their very first chapter book, every purchase helps support our school library and classrooms.

Before the Book Fair begins, there are two easy ways you can help make the experience even better:

• Set up an eWallet so your child can shop without bringing cash

• Volunteer for an hour (or more!) to help students find their next great read

🌟 STAFF SPOTLIGHT: Mrs. Livingston 🌟

This week we’re shining the spotlight on Mrs. Sharon Livingston, who has been part of the Woodlake family for an incredible 29 years! 💙🐾 You’ll often find her before school bringing out games and balls for our Wildcats, one of her favorite ways to make mornings a little more fun.

Mrs. Livingston is a night owl who loves decorating, Italian food, Diet Coke, and her two cats, Licorice and Barney Glover. And after nearly three decades at Woodlake, one of her favorite memories is extra special... she met her best friend here! 🥹
