“EVERY CHILD IS AN ARTIST”
That's what we believe in Woodlake Elementary Art Work Shop. We are creating an environment for the students where they can discover and express themselves through art.The Art Room is a continuously evolving space, since it is the first year we have a specific room for visual art explorations we are working and learning as we go.We begin our year with basic Shapes, Colors, Lines, working on art pieces by Miro, Kandinsky, and Mondrian.
Young people who participate in the arts for at least three hours on three days each week through at least one full year are:
Young artists, as compared with their peers, are likely to:

Woodlake students will participate in a few Art competitions this school year. In the art classroom we started with the Smokey The Bear and Woodsy The Owl completion in drawing and coloring, and district wide Reflection Art Program which we participated in the 2D and 3D visual art section of the project. Reflections Art was an opportunity to introduce Clay and Recycled Art as a medium for art creation, the kids are enjoying the challenge and the new materials.
My name is Sharon Oren. I am a Woodlake Parent and for the last 3 years I have volunteered as an art teacher. In my own studio I have been teaching art and doing the recycled art project for Night of The Arts with the Woodlake students.
I love teaching and seeing our student's expression through art. I was the art administrator for the art program and I’m familiar with Woodlake's previous program The Art Box.
I am excited to have the opportunity Woodlake and our PTSA has offered me, to create the Art room and further develop a program for our students. I hope Woodlake students will connect to and develop their imagination through visual arts.
I love parent and volunteer participation and ideas, you are welcome to come to the Art room any day and time.
